Melon with Cinnamon Syrup

Yield: Serves 4


  • 2 cups fine sugar
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 cup grapefruit juice
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 4 tablespoons Kirsh
  • 4 tablespoons Melon Liqueur
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 melon, Casaba or Spanish
  • 4-6 mandarins


Combine first 7 ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil . Let simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, add cinnamon stick, cool, and refrigerate for several hours. Cut the melon into ball shapes, and the mandarins into segments, removing any pips.

Pour the syrup over the fruit and serve. Keep any leftover syrup for your next fruit salad.
